Competition seeks SMEs that sell mass consumer products and wish to promote their brand at points of sale

The selected brand will receive a free neuroscience-based shopper behavior study, a point-of-sale strategy and a redesign of the product presentation.

The advertising and integrated communications agency Halsband Worldwide Partners (HWP) and the country brand Esencial Costa Rica, committed to strengthening the country's SMEs, are launching the HWP Retail Challenge 2024 contest.

This is an initiative that aims to collaborate pro bono with an Esencial Costa Rica national brand each year. Not only will success be measured not only in meeting the client's specific objectives, but also in how it enhances commitment to growth and collaboration in the SME community.

"This is the first time we carry out this contest and our mission is to catapult the image of Costa Rican SMEs to different markets. As an agency we have a methodology for developing sales strategies from the buyer's perspective, which we have implemented with different mass consumer brands in Latin America," explained Andrey Alvarado, Shopper Marketing Leader at HWP.

Only those businesses that have the country brand seal, but also comply with other requirements such as:

1. To have at least one product line present in the main points of sale in the country, such as supermarkets, hardware stores, convenience stores, etc.

2. The company must be legally registered in Costa Rica.

3. Have digital communication channels available such as social networks and a website.

"HWP is a communications company with more than 40 years working for leading corporate brands, and for this occasion we want to provide all our knowledge and support to these businesses that have proven to contribute to the generation of jobs, reduction of inequality and development of new technological and sustainable innovations," said Federico Halsband, managing partner of HWP Costa Rica.

Entrepreneurs interested in participating in the competition may register no later than February 16 at midnight. The organizers invite companies from different industries, products and from the seven provinces of the country to register.
